Our History

In 1951, Jack Atcheson Sr. founded Atcheson Taxidermy in Butte, Montana.  Tom Hardesty went to work for Jack Atcheson Sr. in 1964.  Beginning at the bottom, he learned his trade exceptionally well.  In 1980, Tom purchased the Taxidermy business from Jack Atcheson Sr.  Tom's three sons', Tom Jr., Shean and Joe Hardesty, also joined the company.  Tom Jr. began working in 1988, Shean in 1990 and Joe in 1992.

Atcheson Taxidermy is now world renowned for our museum quality taxidermy.  Mounts produced in our Taxidermy Studio are sent to private collectors and museums in both foreign and domestic locations.  We have mounted virtually every species of wild animals in the world that is hunted by man.

Atcheson Taxidermy is also one of the world's largest taxidermy operations today, and we are recognized for our honesty, reliability and prompt service.  We have accummulated over 125 years expertise, and are highly recommended by the Smithsonian and the National Taxidermy Association.
